Scientific and Professional Expertise
The IKP is one of the most reputable Centers of Clinical Pharmacology in Europe. Along with the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, the IKP is funded through the Robert Bosch Foundation. Together they have made significant contributions to research and patient care. Most recently, these developments have focused on the area of pharmacogenomics. In addition to its research expertise, the IKP is part of the Interfaculty Center of Pharmacogenomics and Drug Research found at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Through the development of the first Pharmacogenomics PhD curriculum in Europe and its continual cutting-edge research, the IKP will help pave the way for future progress in this important research area.
Internationally recognized for its excellence in Pharmacogenomics, the IKP annually receives funding from national and international sources. Awarded internationally through EU Marie Curie Program Grants 5FP and 7FP, the IKP is proud to have been the coordinator and a training site for the initiative Fighting Breast Cancer and a network site for the initiative KINACEPT. In addition, the IKP is the drug information center for the German state Baden-Württemberg. It is also an active steering member of the International Tamoxifen Pharmacogenomics Consortium.
